I am the author, with Thomas A. Lesser, of The American Museum of Natural History and How It Got That Way, now in paperback with a foreword by Neil deGrasse Tyson. I also run Boogie Woogie Press, which sells Learn Boogie Woogie Piano by myself and Frank Poloney, and sheet music of the most important Boogie Woogie recordings, and features a curated set of important historical articles. I also work as a software engineer and scientist, and teach martial arts.

I have many plans and ideas for future additions to this site, but at this point, I'm not sure how frequently and in what order I will add them.

Dear friends,

I would like to update y'all about a few things that have been going on around here recently.

I'm delighted to say that the paperback edition of The American Museum of Natural History and How It Got That Way, was released November 2020, with a new preface by myself, and a foreword by Neil deGrasse Tyson!
On the Boogie Woogie side of things, Boogie Woogie Press has added a Special Focus on Meade Lux Lewis in conjunction with The Unissued 1960 Meade Lux Lewis Party Tapes.
I now have a baby YouTube channel, which I will gradually be filling out. (Please subscribe, thank you!)
So far, the channel features some exclusive historical Boogie Woogie piano performances, including a selection from the aforementioned Unissued 1960 Meade Lux Lewis Party Tapes. It also has talks, radio interviews, and videos based on The American Museum of Natural History and How It Got That Way.
Lastly, goodbye to the placeholder webpage that has been holding down this spot since forever.
